Halo 2 on XBconnect
Does anyone want to get together and play this someday? I'm getting it soon, I haven't verified if it is indeed compatible with XbConnect. I'm looking forward to playing with you guys! Hope someone is interested!

Get on Xbox live and we can talk.
I played Halo briefly on XBconnect. It was much too laggy to play. And even to be able to play a lag free game I found you were limited to only a few people.
So the answer is no I'm not interested in playing on XBconnect.

Live Is great, but it takes like 5-10min to find a game, and once i get in with my friend, its so laggy. I also find Halo 2 Multiplayer VERY short, by the the time the lag settles the cames over, and I've let of 2 bullets from my gun....
Maybe it'll get better, i'll see, i'm using the 2 month tral, lets see how MS does its thing..

The lenght it takes to get in a game is one of those things that bungie is working on. There's a post on their forums about it.
Mostly it's due to the sheer amount of people on the servers. IT's natural that it's going to take time to match up an even server. Especially when you consider parties.
I'm sure it will get better. That's one of the good things about xbox live is that through updates they can fix just about any bug in there. It's a work in progress after all.

Instead of XBConnect, check out Kai. It's now completely integrated into XBMC and you can even chat to ur buddies with the headset in XBMC.

Xbox live sucks! What kind of fool would pay money to play the games you already paid for on the system you already paid for on the internet connection you already paid for!
Man I wouldn't.. screw payin an additional $80/yr just to play the games and probably get banned anyway.
Everyone stop wasting your money and get on the programs already recommended.

I prefer to pay for a good product.
Sure you can use one of the open source products, but the lag can be unbearable.

not paying for your games and not pay more for online play > paying for your games and pay more for online

I'm sure some would say Xbox live can be laggy and some would say the free online gaming products are not laggy.
Either way $80/yr to play online is crazy. And on top of M$ banning anyone who even thinks about tryin to mod the product they already bought.
HD Update = Ban??? C'mon. FIGHT DA POWAH!

Well I have played Halo on XBConnect. The lag is so much more then you would ever get on Live. The fact that it is fooling the xbox into making a system link over the internet is what makes it so laggy.
No one's forcing you to pay for live. But if you compare strict features Live is better then the alternatives.

Hahaha.. you make it sound so human.. "fooling it" like it knows better. Basically it just runs the game in lan mode which actually happens to be wan.
Perhaps the lag was just your connection, that server, that time of the day or any combination of issues.
BTW, I dunno if anyone else mentioned it.. but XBOX LIVE SUCKS!
