Zap it. It'll stop after that.

Hamster chewing on tongue of side door
My hamster keeps gnawing on the tongue (that keps it shut) of the side door. This wouldn't be a problem if the thing didn't make such a racket (and if she wasn't in my bedroom). I'm getting sick and tired of losing sleep to a thing that's 1/1000th my size.
Is there anyway to get her to stop doing this? I need advice before I connect an electrical current to the damn cage

Well, I also read that hamsters don't respond to physical discipline. So even just a tap on the nose'll do ****-all

there's a spray that you can use on cords to stop a bunny from chewing on cords, perhaps you could use that?

You could try to stick a stuffed animal arm through to block it, or wood for it to chew instead.
