hanging a large mirror into drywall

Find two studs, screw into them, run a string in between, hang the mirror on the string.

Is it a framed mirror or just a flat piece of glass? If it's flat, use some PL Premium.

Agree with previous posts re: studs. Otherwise, if you have to attach it where there isn't a stud, go to any hardware store and get a toggle bolt.

We hung a 50~80lbs mirror a few months ago where there weren't any near-by studs. I opened the drywall up and installed a header supported by jack studs and re-drywalled. Definitely overkill, but that's just me. Bee were going to repaint that room anyway.
