Hansel and Gretal TV Series

Like Jack Ryan and Hack/Slash, Paramount is shifting movie development from film to TV for Hansel & Gretal. This would be based on the 2013 Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters action film that starred Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton.

They sort of have the potential to have a movie series based on a superhit. Does the original cast (aka Hawkeye) have the time to do a TV series? If they recast it, it'll probably feel like one of those really dull watered down version of a decent movie.

Well...I read this news yesterday too...and it SUCKS! :(

NO Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton = NO GO for a proper sequel!

I think both actors made bigger movies after the first sleeper-hit Hansel & Gretel movie...which I loved by the way...so I think that they either asked for bigger paychecks and the production company refused...OR they were not anymore interested in playing the roles again now that they are big Hollywood stars and get get bigger roles and paychecks elsewhere.

Either way, I am curious to see where they take this franchise now on TV.

Also, there is another "Witch Hunting" movie coming out soon and we don't know how well that movie will do....it's the Vin Diesel action/horror movie, "The Last Witch Hunter".

That's understandable the actors have moved on to other projects. The movie was ok but I don't think it was strong enough to warrant recasting and converting to a TV show. I guess they can't simply let a franchise be a single movie.....

i never saw this movie in the theaters, i watched the directors cuts on bluray. anyways i thought it was a good fantasy, horror, action movie. it didnt blow me away, but it was good. im all for a tv show if it keeps an R rating. if its a watered down pg 13 show, then i think it wont last very long.

as for gemma and jeremy returning, id be ok with that. id also be ok if it was another actor and actress, who fit the roles nicely. i also cant see this tv show last any longer than 2 or 3 seasons.
