Just got Seagate Expansion 2TB from Amazon delivered. (UPS style just leave in front of the front door)
Plug in and it works (win 7 - 64)
A bit heavier than the other external hard drives I have.
I would assume the enclosure has some metal-ish component to help with cooling?
amazon is so much faster than NCIX (expected since they are online selling only).
My amazon order on 26th arrived today
but NCIX order on 25th is not even processed yetLast edited by last_sd; Dec 28th, 2012 at 02:32 PM.

Got mine this afternoon as well. My dad was at home to receive it. So wasn't an issue.
HOWEVER there is one problem though. I opened up the packaging to examine the HDD itself and there's a tiny scratch/tiny dent on the casing itself. Do I call up Amazon and let them know? Or do I contact Seagate? Also would I have to send the HDD back?_______________

Well Amazon had a Seagate 2TB USB 3.0 external on Boxing Day for a lightning price of $69.99. Might be on sale for $79.99 or gone up. However they have the 3TB for $109.99. They are 3.5 versions by the way.
Edit : Looks like the 2TB went up in price: http://www.amazon.ca/Seagate-Expansi...7064498&sr=8-1
Even the 3TB as well: http://www.amazon.ca/Seagate-Backup-...6841886&sr=8-1

Sorry, cannot think of anything else at the moment._______________

Anybody know what hard drive is in the $119 FS/BB 3TB WD? Seems a lot faster than I would've expected (see my speed below reported through Win 7 from the SSD).
Tried copying from my storage 2TB Hitachi 5400RPM drive and it slowed to 75MB/s on a 4GB movie rip. From my SSD it copied at 135MB/s on the same movie. With speeds like this through USB3.0, makes the argument much stronger now for externals over internals.
