Hard drive died on my Dell XPS 15

So my hard drive died on my Dell XPS 15. I need to replace it.

I just saw this deal for a 256 gb SSD for $79.99: Gigastone Prime Series 256GB Solid State Drive

http://www.thesource.ca/en-ca/brands/gi ... /108036665

Will this work with my computer? Is this a good brand, or should I be looking for something else? Has anyone else seen any good deals on 256GB or 512GB SSD's?

Thanks!

Assuming your XPS 15 is one of the newer slim models (since 2013) and your dead hard drive is a regular hard drive, then those SSDs should pop in with no problems.

Specs list height as 7mm, so it should fit.

It is a generic brand.
Appears to have decent specifications. Controller is SMI 2246EN, Intel MLC NAND with MTBF of 2,000,000 hrs.
Performance appears to be a bit behind the popular Crucial BX100.
Currently, not aware of any solid state drive using MLC in that price range. All others costs more.
Provided their quality control is good, decent buy.
