it's is a good news for long run, and 2TB will drop from $120 to $108 next month, better than nothing. :)

By that time, 1TB will be very little space and you will not be interested in 1TB.

Are you interested in a 50-pack CD spindle for $20 right now?

30% drop from the current prices will be the pre-flood prices. It isn't too bad right now actually, there seems to be a lot of reasonable deals for 2TB and 3TB moreso than 1TB and lower.

What on earth do you need multiple 2TB drives for? Are you really going to rewatch all those illegally downloaded 1080p TV shows, movies and porn?

I could use these on my satellite tv system. A hub can be used and you can select between drives though only 1 drive can be active at a time. That way you can archive shows on one drive, movies on another, etc. You'd think a 2TB drive wouldn't fill up fast but if you are like me and don't watch things right away, it can get filled up plenty quick. A 2TB drive is about 200 hours in high def. Over 900 hours in standard def but I seldom record anything in standard def anymore...

Backup, redundancy, NAS, etc. I have 7 2TB drives in my main system.

Which B&M stores will see a price drop when the price drop happen?

Or will they only price drop it only after their existing stock runs out and they have to reorder?

I find that many stores will say "I am still selling it at this expansive price because that's the price I got them for last month"

I like how Apple does the pricing, when it says it will drop the price, then all stores have to do it. (I wonder if the store loses money?)

Also, we might get 60 tb hdd in 2 years time...
