Never tried it, and I'd be reluctant to. If something doesn't work, it'd be a headache to figure out which component isn't working, and track down the seller of it..

Has anyone ever built a computer entirely out of parts purchased here on RFD?!
The subject line pretty much sums it up: have you, or has anyone you know, built a computer out of RFD parts only (mostly? nearly?)? Or entirely based on leads for better prices found here?
I guess alternatively, have all the computer parts you have sold here on RFD been able, once put together, to make a whole computer?_______________

Nope, always ended up a few components short. But every part I've purchased has worked. *knocks on wood*

Bought my current pc off RDF, everything except the case and silencer for video card.
Msi neo2 platinum
Athlon 64 FX-53
BFG 6800GT card
Kingston HyperX 1GB Dual Channel Memory Kit
Enermax 470W Niosetaker
Thermright XP-90 heatsink
2x 120mm panaflo fans
75g raptor HD
Needless to say I've ended up with a pc that costs about twice the price I paid for it.
Thank you RDF.Last edited by Boss_Scorpius; Feb 21st, 2005 at 02:07 PM.

Yeap I almost did. Cept that I put my own vid card and optical drive...
I've built 2 comps scraping up cheap parts on rfd. I don't even need it. I have like 5 desktops in the house and 2 people living in it. I just can't pass on a good deal...

Nope, not yet. But the latest one I'm trying to build has most parts from NCIX, then the rest I have now from PC Village, eBay, and maybe more if I don't get a phone call on the price quote tomorrow ..
