I have a Toto HET that we installed a few years back. It was fairly expensive and probably not a quick way to save a buck, but it uses a lot less water and frankly, flushes a lot better than the old high-flow it replaced.

I just installed 3 brand new toilets. 2 HET 4.8L flush foremost brand for upstairs washrooms and 1 Foremost dual flush Europa one peice looking sleek machine for downstairs ensuite since it gets used the most.
I've had no problems with the toilets so far, easy to install and flushes great!!!!!!!! I posted my 20 year old 13L flush toilets up for free on craiglist and within 1 day they were picked up and gone! So i save money on my toilets and i helped recycled. Ha ha sorta..

Is there any way to make a HET ... more like a normal one?
I recently moved into a new condo and these new HET toilets can't get the job done. Ends up taking 2-3 flushes more than my old normal one.
Probably the weirdest question here, but, is it possible to make it flush MORE water per flush?

I'm not sure how to use more water per flush other than to pour it in to the toilet. My shower takes a while to warm up, so I save the cold water in a bucket. This could be used to assist in flushing the toilet.
That's too bad about your HET toilet. Not all HET toilets are created equally. They vary in flush pressures from about 350 to 1000 & different models, such as Caroma have wider exit to assist in flushing.

I have used these HET toilets elsewhere before and they have worked great. It is good to know that not all are created equal in case we ever decide to install some.
I do wonder if part of the problem is not the toilet itself, but the actual plumbing beneath it. We have 3 identical toilets in the house (just low flush) and one of them always has troubles. It just seems it is more a function of plumbing beneath it.
