This is a wholesaler website from China. You can get 60" 3D TV for $800 when they retail here for $3000. Obviously my scamdar gets set off with something like this. I am wondering if anyone has any experience importing big ticket items from this site. Thanks!

If it sounds too good to be true, it is.

also dont forget about shipping fees and the fact that tv is as no name brand as you can get and probably is a tv that was tossed by the big boys because it didn't live up to their quality control.

Alibaba is not a shopping website like overstock.com. It is a trade directory site for quantity wholesale buyers. It is not intended for JoeSchmoe in Canada who wants to buy one TV. You go onto Alibaba.com if you want to buy 10000 TVs for your chain of retail stores. Single-quantity offers are generally intended for purposes of purchasing samples to evaluate before buying in volume.

There is an offshoot website called aliexpress.com and there are a lot of listings there for single items that consumers can purchase directly; but it is important to understand it is not Alibaba that you're buyiing from . . . it's basically a kind of alternative to eBay that's geared more to quantity wholesale buying. Alibaba does not assume direct responsibility if you get ripped off by a shady lister.
