Because its on the twilight of this generation and PS3 and 360 already hit its peak awhile ago. Ive found over the past couple years my interest drop significantly, I just dont seem to have the same interest in games now. Maybe its cause im getting older and your priorities in life change, but also I just find myself less attached to them. I used to follow game and bluray releases closely, like every week and buy games on launch and finish them. Probably average buy 2-3 games a month. But now, in the past year Ive bought 1 game, yes 1! Blurays? I dont even remember the last time I put one in my PS3. And now with BBV and Rogers all shut down, I dont play or even let alone buy any games or blurays now. I cant even remember the last time I even watched a movie.
And I have a 59" tv and a 5.1 HT. HT is kind of a waste and overkill for just reg TV watching I think. Ive even been thinking about even parting ways with my HT and selling it off but I dont know. Only reason why I still have my 360 is cause of one game and its exclusive (otherwise would have sold my xbox years ago) but now that im burnt out with that game, Im really looking into selling the 360 and cutting all my fond memories of it over the past 6 years. For my PS3, I dont know why I still have it....I think its cause free online, plays games and blurays...even though I dont really watch blurays anymore but I guess its just nice having a BR player just in case. Ive used my PS3 maybe once in the past 4 months and that was to play music.

I will never sell my consoles. Every console I bought, I have kept. From Nes to Wii. From PS1 to PS3. From Master to Dreamcast. From GB to 3DS. Even though I don't play much today, just a couple hours a week, I will keep buying it. At this moment I got way too much stuff to consider stopping. Now it is just a collection hobby. An expensive one.

I will keep all my current consoles and games unless there's a game I bought that I was really disappointed with or if I have absolutely no desire to replay again (Gran Turismo 5, Portal 2 come to mind).
With buying movies or TV shows , I am selective with which blu-rays I buy. Usually I have seen the movies before and think they are re-watchable enough to keep them or I did research (reading reviews beforehand) before buying it. Therefore I only keep ones I like in my collection. If I blind buy something and don't like it, I give it to someone who might like it or sell it off.
When I was younger I gave away my SNES when I upgraded to an N64 and gave away my N64 when I upgraded to a GameCube and PS2. I still own my PS2 and GameCube since I like the library of games I have for them and there hasn't been an HD remastered version for some of the titles.
It seems maybe you are burned out by watching boring or mediocre movies or playing through bad boring games to the point of losing interest. They are meant to be forms of entertainment.Last edited by x-factor; Aug 4th, 2012 at 12:05 AM.

Like the others said I won't sell my consoles either. Even if I didn't liked my consoles, it doesn't worth to sell my ps3 in the half price of less of the price I had bought it 4 years ago

I've pretty much kept most of my consoles. Only ones I sold were the N64 and Dreamcast which I wish I haven't. And yes... I sold those and still kept a Virtual Boy! LOL.
I've been building up my PS3 and Xbox 360 library lately with these cheap sales during the summer, so in the future I can go back to them and do some retro gaming with my daughter when she grows up. Speaking of retro gaming, I've dusted off my old SNES and now I'm hunting down games I've missed out on it. It's satisfying to go back to your old consoles and games once in a while, just to see how far gaming has gone.
With a newborn daughter taking up most of my time & resources, this gen is probably my last generation of gaming...
...that is... unless she picks up gaming in the future

I'll probably hold onto my ps3/360 until the replacements come out (maybe even a little longer if the new consoles cost too much).
I still have my modded xbox1. It never gets used anymore. It's hooked up to the bedroom tv. I finally got rid of my dreamcast last year when I moved (as awesome as it was, I didn't use it anymore).
I should probably chuck the wii. I don't think its been used since before I moved last year.....

I'm prob gonna sell my 360 and games this year... I bought it 2 years ago around xmas and over the two years got about 10 games for it and never play the thing. I moved last dec and it is still sitting packed in the box. I'll prob hold onto my ps3 until next gen comes out because I have more games for it and still use it for netflix and blu-rays.

I think I am going to be keeping my PS3 far beyond next gen consoles. Even using it just as a media hub and bluray player, I can't see myself parting with it. In fact, if they drop down the below $150, I think I'll pick up another as a backup.

PS3 is good value now especially with bluray. PS2 was one of the hottest consoles even after the PS3 came out and Sony aims for a 10 year lifecycle with their consoles. Microsoft on the other hand stopped making games for the xbox pretty quickly after the 360 came out. I also picked up a gamecube near the end of it's lifecycle and enjoyed it immensely. I'm in no rush to jump into next gen especially since they won't be as powerful as from going from PS2->PS3, xbox->360. They are going to take a page out of nintendo's playbook by creating lower cost consoles.

I always keep mine... You usually don't get much for them at this point so might as well keep them.
