Has anyone used DPR Financial to invest?
If so, what has been your experience with them?

New and exciting website coming January 2009
And people complain when they lose all their money to some unheard of investment broker.
Stick to either the major banks or the major nationwide investment dealers or do it yourself. There is no independent "hole in the wall" investment dealer who will give you better returns.

I disagree 100%. Major banks will make great efforts to sell their own funds, as will nationwide investment dealers - ie Investors Group etc. Only an independent can give you customized service, and not be swayed by larger fees for "house products".
Going to a bank to get financial advice is like asking a kid at future shop what the best computer is for your needs. Occasionally you might find a good knowledgeable person, but for the most part, they just want to close the deal. Walk into a bank and 20 minutes later, you've been sold a product with little to no advice. Go to a good independent CFP, and they will spend hours with you, do a holistic plan - covering everything from your investments to insurance to estate planning. My guy did this for me, and the cost was the same as going to a bank.
Long live the independents!

Yes emilyny, I have invested with them, and my experience has been horrible. DO NOT invest one red cent with them. They have scammed many many people, and for the most part are all too embarassed to come forward. I have contacted my lawyer, and gone to the police. If you have any money to invest DO NOT I repeat DO NOT, go there . They do not return calls and yes their cheques bounce. For your own benefit, research whom ever you invest with, I didn't and it cost me ALOT!!!!!!!

I strongly suggest anyone invested with Daniel Reeve to be aware. He is not returning any invested money. If you have money invested in Reeve Hotels and Resorts or other companies associated with DPR, I would suggest you contact the police. If you have leveraged money through DPR and were misled I would suggest you contact your financial instuition that your funds are invested in immediately. You can not let them get away with this!

dpr financial.
please get the word out that he has stolen millions that he is not able to return and it is going to be coming to a "Head" soon. Keep an eye out for the story being done on him. I am sure it will be a matter of time before it is on TV.
He is now officially in hiding and this will be the "Latest" ponzie scheme all over the papers in the next few months.
Anybody, that thinks they are any safer with his brothers newly created firm, "Davlyn Financial", is not thinking straight. His day in court will be coming soon, as you can't be the president of a "Ponzi Scheme", and not be associated or aware of what is going on, just because you jumped ship, and started a new company.
My advice is to run as far away as you can from these two very terrible men. Let's all just hope that somehow, the poor poor people that this evil man swindled, can somehow recoup there money.

If you're greedy and stupid, do it!
With all these schemers we read about in the news like Madoff and Ian Thow promising high, iron clad, consistent and guaranteed returns finally getting caught, what does it say about the investors themselves? Blinded by their own greed, perhaps? There will always be people out there ready to take your money whether it's in a game of three-card monte or financial services company (even reputable firms like Berkshire get tarred with pigs like Thow). Interestingly enough, I did a search on both Ian Thow and Daniel P Reeve and both seem to like having pictures of themselves playing with money: Thow with cash stuck between his greasy sausage fingers and shirt, Reeve performing some form of auto erotica with money over a wheelbarrow. Tip one: never get financial advice from someone who treats money like a child's play toy. They won't respect you or your money. Tip two: if your financial advisor owns a private jet, rides around in a limousine or seems to be on vacation for most of the year while you're working like a mule and told to wait 20+ years to benefit from your long term investing...you'd probably be better off withdrawing your money and sticking it in a mattress. At least your sleep would be cushy.
DPR Financial had a storefront in a nearby mall called "millionaire in you" though we could never quite figure out what they were trying to sell because it was just shelves of magazines, perfume and teenagers dressed like flight attendants eating poutine.

Davlyn Financial & David Reeve(formerly of DPR Financial)
Has anybody had any experience with Davlyn Financial out of the Kitchener area? I beleive the "President" (David Reeve), is the former president of DPR Financial,(Cambridge, Kitchener area) which has been shut down, and is currently being investigated for some VERY bad things. A friend of mine had some dealings with David Reeve and his former firm and nothing good came out of it. He was leverage invested 4 times higher than he should have been and is now stuck paying for a plan that he can only hope will recover in 4 to 5 years. The word needs to be out on People like this as when it comes to investments, people just don't seem to research there advisor choices. He was also told to talk to his brother Daniel to look at some private "Corporate Instruments", which sounded a little sketchy to me and outside of the FSCO and OSC regulated paramaters. As much as it was my friends fault that he didn't do his due diligence, we as investors should have some protection and rights against these potential "Bad Apples" in the industry. (Innocent until proven guilty right Kid?)
Anybody with any dealings with this newly formed company (Davlyn Financial), I would love to hear your feedback and any experiences you may have had. I am expecting to hear more negative than positive.
I am simply looking for feedback on this firm (Davlyn Financial) at this point and not looking to bad mouth. Both positive and Negative are acceptable.

Satisfied Davlyn Customer - A Response to Bitter Belmont
I am a current client of Davlyn Financial and yes David Reeve is my advisor and has been for many years. You can not tar David with the same brush as his brother just because they share the same name. Anyone who has met the pair know that they are as different as chalk and cheese. Daniel is all showboat and David is salt of the earth. David is a victim in this whole mess as much as the people who invested with Daniel. If it is too good to be true people it usually is... Greed is what got us in this mess!
David has made me alot of money on my investments over the years and perseved my wealth. Isn't that what you need from any advisor. I trust him with my life savings and my companys.
I also know that David has tried to help as many people as he can with the PONZI scheme that his brother has created. Daniel is the real criminal here.
Question for you Belmont, did you lose money to Daniel Reeve is that why you are so bitter? If so why are you not targeting him??
I am one of the poor unfortunate souls that you speak about ,I have an investment with Daniel for alot of money. David has been working with me for months to recoup my investments.
I for one am not going to ruin a man's reputation by the actions of his brother. Heand his firm's actions speak far more than any words could ever do!
