True. I think there is clearly a very extreme pokar opposites happening before our eyes. I think the more make up argument holds true because I'm noticing a lot more attractive girls running around. Let's face it and admit without make up most of these people would go unnoticed on the street. Even celebrities without makeup look rather average.

So on the one hand the attractive ones elevate their game while those who didn't win the gene lottery just give up and become overweight, fat, less motivated to improve themselves. I just don't buy the argument people are perfectly ok with a spare tire for a waist line. What they are is settling. As with anything in this world you have to work your butt off to achieve what you want.

Camera technology got a lot better. Not saying a good photographer in those days weren't good with their equipment. With my Google phone it seems almost impossible to take a bad picture.
Not only that, but the camera angle apparently improves the looks

I am not talking about pictures on the internet but in general. Go shopping and there seems to be a lot more people making an effort to doll up before they go out. I swear as a kid or a person in school my perception of beauty certainly was superficially high. I thought Cindy Crawford was the most perfect woman but now that I'm older I learn to appreciate subtle beauty hence I'm noticing more. That said @Becks has a point about the ubiquity of plastic surgery which was mainly the domain of the rich and famous.... Ahh, I sound like Robin Leach.
