This is what I had always thought to have been one of the most iconic images of our generation, the kind of thing that we would all recognize. Perhaps not every single person, but certainly every Chinese.
I recently met a Chinese person who grew up in China but spent the vast majority of her life here in Canada. She has never seen or heard about this incident and thinks most people, even Chinese people, do not know of this either.
What do you guys think? Is this image really as iconic as I think it is, or are some Chinese people just uninterested about this?

If one lives outside of China, is Chinese, is older than 16 and has never seen this image/heard of the incident related to this image, I trully feel sorry for that clueless person.

What's more interesting is there were stories that the person in the picture was actually was killed shortly after the incident by the military.
Not sure how true that is but I would imagine his fate was not good.LOG IN TO THANK No one has yet thanked rc51 for this post.

I'm actually equally curious about the driver in the first tank as I am about the guy who stood in front of it.

Never seen this before, anyone care to explain what is going on in the pic? Personally it looks PhotoShopped, who would stand in front of a tank like that?

Nice.
I think 99% of the people with access to free public media and live outside China has seen this before.
Within China, even, I'm sure a lot of people know about it, but have different thoughts about it. It's amazing what media can do, just like how a lot of Japanese don't think twice about what actually happened in WW2._______________$100 for $100 Silver Bison Coins, $135 or 3 for $380!
