Great discounts from the retail prices. But I have to wonder if HD actually is selling this merchandise at a loss, or whether these clearance numbers don't demonstrate how badly consumers are getting ripped off by retailers?

How do they rip us off?

They just want a profit, like everyone else.

Have you noticed how many staff there was when you were there last time?
Did you noticed how well the lights lid up the place, powered by hydro?
Can you estimate the commercial, higher than what you (your parents most likely) pay, property taxes.
Did you see the big huge parking lot that makes no money at all, property taxes again.

I just can't belief on the cost of some of the things they sell and still make money.
