HDR Lcd Display 25,000:1 contrast ratio

Conventional CRT video monitors have a dynamic range of 600:1, while good LCD video monitors have a dynamic range of 500:1. Just to give you an idea of the problem, a scene showing the interior of a room with a sunlit view outside the window have a dynamic range around 100,000:1. So this scene won’t be so realistic when shown on a conventional display.

conventional CCFL backlight used in LCDs is already a bad idea from the start.. even i could've thought of using LEDs...

we finally have to technology to do this? or are we a little late in the R&D department? let's hear your word!

According to that little blurp, I gather the 100,000:1 figure is what you would need for ultra-realistic representation. In other words, results that would blur the lines between reality and virtual reality.
