he-he Guess What Santa's Postal Code Is

HOHOHO

Where do I write to Santa Claus?

Sat, November 12, 2005

No one knows when children began writing letters to Santa, but certainly the practice was common by the 1870s. Apart from the North Pole, children's letters were sometimes addressed to nearby cities, Heaven or simply to Santa Claus. In 1869 the McLaughlin Brothers published Santa Claus and His Works and in it was a poem written by George P. Webster establishing that Santa Claus lived in the North Pole.

"In a nice little city called Santa Claus-ville,
With its houses and church at the foot of the hill
Lives jolly old Santa Claus...
His home through the long summer months,
you must know,
Is near the North Pole, in the ice and snow..."

In 1982, to help ensure that Santa Claus received all of his letters, Canada Post established a formal mailing address for him and invited children from around the world to send Santa their holiday wishes. He can be reached at the address below or online at CanadaPost.ca . Canada post asks parents make sure letters to Santa do not include treats especially food items..
All mail should include a return address so Santa can answer, and must include the proper postage.

Each year Santa Claus receives over one million letters from children around the world, in more than 26 languages including Braille.

So, what's so unusual about this? Santa's address is very well known. If this was posted 23 years ago, it might actually be new and exciting...

I used to write to that address when I was a kid. I'd receive a letter back saying that Santa will do all he can to make it come true.

I felt special then

For kids these days and age, Sant might have to register a @hohoho.com e-mail address

What took you so long to figure it out? :cheesygri

The space is not required! Some websites don't even have a space, like the Canada Post website. :)
