Headphones as Pillow Speaker?

For those who watch TV or listen to radio late at night in bed and don't want to disturb others in the house, a pillow speaker (a small speaker that you put under your pillow) has been a solution. Unfortunately, the main source for them in Canada is The Source, and the one they currently carry is terrible - - poor sound quality, breaks easily.

I was wondering if anyone here had tried using a set of headphones as a pillow speaker? I have seen some where the part that covers the ear folds flat for storage and might not be too big to fit under a pillow.

Any thoughts on models of headphones that might be suitable for this purpose would be most welcome.

You could try it but I don't think they will be loud enough.
