Hello and PSA to locked PM access for new users

Long time dweller, finally made an account to trade with someone.

I was in the middle of a PM conversation until I realized RFD blocked my PM access.
New rule apparently:
In order to use the Private Message system you need to have 1 approved post. This is to cut down on the amount of private message spam by newly created accounts. Once you make your post it will likely be approved within 24 hours (assuming it doesn't violate our forum rules). You'll then have access to the private message system.
Hopefully this post counts as a approved post.

Anyways, nice meeting you all! :)

Cool, interesting to see that they implemented that rule.

(We recently had quite a few spammers that were sending people links in PM.)

Welcome to the forums, and hope you enjoy it :)

Does the PM function automatically get added or do you need to request it? I had my first post approved but I don't see any changes to my ability to PM people. Not sure if i'm missing something ....

Thanks for the info! I was trying to PM someone and couldn't!

Only when I searched the forum did I find the reason why.

Thanks!

Thanks OP! I am on the same boat as you though I created a RFD account many years ago. I finally know why I can't use the PM feature yet.Face With Tears Of Joy

The reason is quoted in the first post of the thread.
This is to cut down on the amount of private message spam by newly created accounts.
