Help: Airport (YYZ) to Yonge and Finch - Can I take the TTC?

Hey guys,

I'm moving to Toronto on Aug 26th. And I need to get from the Air Port to Yonge and Finch where my Condo is. I'm trying to navigate the TTC Website, but I can't seem to find stations and what not. And the Trip Planner is not working.

So does anyone have any experience with this route and could recommend the fastest way.

Thank you !!!

Walk to Finch Station Northeast Entrance

Board the Yonge-University-Spadina Subway departing from Finch Station at 12:53 am and travel to Bloor-Yonge Station

Board the Bloor-Danforth Subway departing from Bloor-Yonge Station at 1:20 am and travel to Kipling Station

Board the 192 Airport Rocket departing from Kipling Station at 1:51 am and travel to Pearson Terminal 1

Walk to Pearson Airport

You should arrive at Pearson Airport around 2:09 am

hmmm. that's far. I thought there was a subway at the airport..

do you think it would be better to taxi it then?

Probably will be expensive, but less of a pain in the ass (if you have luggage).

Since OP is new to Toronto, I think a taxi would be the best option (Unless you're familiar with the subway system here).

take the Airport GO bus to York Mills Station.
Then subway up to Finch Station.

Or you can:

1) Take the GO Transit Route 40 Airport Express Bus from Pearson Airport directly to Richmond Hill Centre. Comes every 1 hour. 4 AM to 1 AM.

-THEN TRANSFER BUSES-

2) Take the VIVA Blue line bus from Richmond Hill Centre to Finch Station. Comes every 10-15 minutes. 5 AM to 12 AM.

-----

I'd prefer this route as it's the least confusing, two simple and direct bus routes that do not have different branches.
Aside from the 1 hour wait, the travel time is only 40-45 minutes total to get to Finch from the Airport. :)

The York Mills GO Bus everyone is telling you to take has tons of branches that have different destinations.

-----

GO Transit = Green coach buses.
Board the bus.
Tell the driver your destination. Fare is charged based on distance
Pay cash to the driver. He has change but do not give big bills.

-----

VIVA = Blue buses
Pay before boarding. The machines at Richmond Hill Centre accept debit cards and cash.
Board the bus.
Retain ticket in case you are checked.

What number is the GO bus?
That doesn't seem to bad actually.

I'm new to Toronto so I don't know where anything is.

I'm assuming the cab ride will be at least $50. So if I can save $50 i'm all for it.

edit; thanks wilson!

It seems like taking the GO bus to York Mills and then taking the subway to Finch seems like the easiest.

Is there only one GO bus I should look for?

and in vancouver you can only buy monthly bus passes at the beginning of the month.. is it the same in toronto?
and does anyone know with the student rate how you get that rate?

it's $121 for adult and $99 for student...

It's the same over here. If you look enough like a student, get a student one instead.

GO Transit bus #34, here's the schedule: http://www.gotransit.com/publicroot/en/ ... tion=&new=

Metropass = TTC only. (IE: does not include GO Transit, Viva, YRT etc)
