Help Me Choose - Dell 2007WFP vs Samsung 215TW
Both monitors are very similar...I'm just wondering if there are overwhelmingly compelling reasons to go with one versus the other. The Dell is at $509.15 this week and the Samsung is at $557.99.

I don't know about you, but Dell rhymes with smells and it ain't a good smell either.
I would buy that Samsung over the Dell. Unfortunately Samsung cost so much more than their Dell counterparts. Try getting a 24" Samsung for under $1,000 - nion impossible to do.

Thanks you two...makes the decision a bit easier. The Samsung is only 10% more expensive than the Dell so it would have been hard to justify.

Dells days of deals are due soon, the 2007wfp should drop in price alot, maybe in the 400-430 range. I would go with that one. Keep in mind alot of the reviews were done before dell fixed the banding issues. I've been hearing mostly good things about the newer revisions. Hope that helps
Oh, you could also look into the viewsonic vx2025wm, very positive reviews for that one too

i have both the DELL and VIEWSONIC 20" WS

i must say...... DELL has a much sharper image.... but the viewsonic has a brighter picture!
so depending wat you like... that is what i have to say... not much... since both are really similiar~!
as for the samsung :S... no idea! never seen or used~!
but for the price UP.... i would stick with DELL or VIEWSONIC

Jul 5th, 2006 09:52 AM #8Thanks keross..Yeah, the Dell days should be up anytime now, especially since school is around the corner. She wants the monitor sometime soon so that is a factor. The VX2025WM is a good option but not sure if it is HDCP ready or not.

At least the dell allows you to display 16:9 material from sources like the xbox 360 in it's proper aspect, which is more than you can do with the samsung.
