Help! Need to get away during the holidays

My company just told me that I need to take two weeks off during the holidays. Dec 22-Jan 6

I've been looking everywhere, and I can't find anything reasonable. I'm up for travelling anywhere from 4-16 days. Very flexible.

I'll be happy with: South(Mexico, Cuba...), Further South (Columbia, Brazil....) Asia (China, Japan, Taiwan, South East Asia....).

Just get me out of Toronto! lol

1. there are several similar questions posted in last 1-2 months -- check other
threads down the list for ideas.

2. you is one on thousand-millions people in the same situation.
If there would be good option -- all are already taken.
You is late for good affordable convenient options.

3. Thing out of the box: for example:
instead of vacation get some temporary job to earn money and use the money
to take vacation later. Mid-January prices are 2 if not 3 time less than Christmas period.
Uber driver, ski-lift operator, snow-cleaning, tax-adviser, baby-sitter, cheff-cooker
-- people may need a lot of additional services during Christmas time.

4. Find good company and engage in pleasant joyful activity.
This way going out of the country/Toronto will not be a main goal.
Good un-rushed sex or pleasant Nordic ski trip in peaceful country side
followed by relaxing sip of whiskey near fire-place -- can be no less pleasant than
spending 26 hours (each way!) in planes and in airports to Auckland.

Cheers!

Volunteer opportunities are everywhere during the holidays. Why not find an opportunity to make someone else's day a little brighter, right in your own community?

if you can afford to go, just pick a place and go and cross it off the bucket list. It's a bit late to be booking anything long distance, I would imagine anything around christmas and new years is a busy travel time and was booked months ago.

If you don't have the funds to go, pick up something you don't normally do for the 2 weeks.. a new hobby or catch up on some reading. Explore different parts of the city that you don't often go to.

Drop in to a travel office. You'll be surprised what they can find for you.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I decided to drive to Montreal to spend few days with friends there.

The rest of the time, I guess I'll try to find something to do.
