Help... need a good honda mechanic in Toronto/Etobicoke
Help ... I have a 2001 Honda Accord, makes a god awful screeching/grinding noise, had brakes checked but no help ...maybe worst.
Had alignment done, nothing said about steering components...any ideas out there ... noise comes and goes ...screeches then stops when you go fast...hard to predict when it happens.
Your recomendations and ideas please.
THANKS!!!!

Thanks to all for reponding.
I need a mechanic in toronto because that is where I live and since I will need to drop of the car, i have to be able to get home on transit and go to work if necessary. I work in Etobicoke and can drop if off there on the way to work and can pick it up afterwards.
Any more suggestions ... please help if you can ... your mechanic will be grateful for your referral.
Thanks.

does it get louder when you accelerate?
a whipping/whirling sound or grinding?
Is your e-brakes released?
It can be your bearings.
when jacked up, try pulling the tire on the wheel back and forth (3-9pm)
Is there a hobble?
Then check up and down (12-6pm)
If it hobbles, you're bearings are shot.
Replace.

No, it is the same level ... it is grinding screech ... goes away when you accelerate ... comes on when you turn the wheel sometimes slightly other times when you turn left or right.
Have not checked the bearing but assume that this would have been caught when I had a alighment done about a month ago?
Thanks for the input.
All suggestions are welcome.
Thanks

bearings dont make a screech, they make a grrrr.... seriously to me it sounds like one of the belts. Open the hood with the car on, and put your ear in closer and see if you can find which area of the engine its comming from.

We've been very pleased with the service provided by Dr. H. However, it's just south of Dundas (Six points intersection), and across the road from the south parking lot at the Kipling subway station.
