I've tried both the Atkinsons peanut butter candy and the chic-o-sticks. Both are good but not nearly as good as the Crispy Crunch center.
Will-O-Crisp is the most comparable but requires a LOT more effort to seperate the center. Very cheap alternative though.

Seconding the recommendation of a peanut butter variety of "chicken bones" candy. Back when I was little kid (at least 15 years ago), I went on a tour of a candy factory in southern NS (the now-closed Yarmouth Candy factory?), and I recall that their variety was pretty similar to the peanut butter part of Crispy Crunch (one of my favourite kinds of chocolate bar, too, after the Crunchie bar). However, apparently they have gone out of business. Except for the bits of coconut on the outside (the NS ones also lacked the coconut), these look sort of similar (but I have never tried them): http://www.hammondscandies.com/candy...bones-gift-bag or http://www.vermontcountrystore.com/s...en_Bones/60964 Both are rather pricey, though (as there is a premium on old-fashioned sorts of candy).
These are pretty different in consistency (and probably flavour) from the Chick-o-Sticks suggested earlier.

Anyone know where I can buy and try these "Chicken Bones" locally in the GTA? Or close to the GTA? Shipping is over $15 for a 7oz bag.

^ I'd try Tutti Fruitti - they have imported candy from the US and Britain, so if anyone's going to have it, they'd be one of the best bets.
They've got a few locations.

Btw, if you call around looking for chicken bones, just make sure that they understand that it's not 'Ganong Chicken Bones', which are something else entirely [link]
