I know this is going to sound like a strange request, but I thought I would try anyways, hoping to find someone on RFD to help me out. I found a great deal in the GTA on an HP Scanjet 8350. I'm going to be using this scanner as part of a project to help some local Non-Profits organizations here in Halifax to digitize a lot of their old paper records. The (used) scanner has been purchased. However, the company who I bought it from stated they couldn't find a box big enough to ship it to me in
So, I got them to agree to take it to the purolator depot and just buy a box from there. However, Purolator wanted $120 to pack the scanner in a box, and then an additional $110 to ship the thing!So, I told them to just keep it for me for the weekend, and I'd try to figure something out.
So, what I'm trying to find is someone who works near Steeles Ave E / Steeles Ave W, who'd be willing to pickup the scanner for me, drop it in a box with whatever packing material they have available (crumpled up news paper, whatever), and could send it to me COD here in Halifax via CanadaPost, which will ship it to me here in Halifax for approx $60. I'd be willing to send whomever did this for me $20 as an e-payment, as a thank-you for their efforts.

Will they even release the package to someone who isn't listed as the receiver? With different address as well, cause I know you need to match the address at the minimum.
