The rogers employee or the third party contractor who is LICENCED by rogeres but does not have to work for rogers, is given tools by his employer that enables them access to this equiptment. Warning, if you try to open this, you could be in big trouble. Plus, nothing you do in there will benefit you.

Help: Rogers Cable Box
Rogers cable came to my house today and updated some of my cable wiring outside. On the outside of my house there is now a small grey box that the cable wire comes in and splits into my tv's and internet. Now lets just say for the sake of discussion, how would someone (of course a rogers licensed employee) go about opening this box?

yeah, it clearly says on the box its illegal to open the box. since the dawn of cable, people have been trying to steal it. You could find tools on ebay.

but why bother? theres nothing you can do in there that would benefit you anyways.
Your Digital Set-Top box now dictates your cable tier, where as before, they would need to filter your cable, they would do it in the box or at the street tap. all you will find inside there is a spliter for internt on one leg and cable on the other leg.

The box is property of the cable company, not you, even though it is attached to your house.
Don't mess with it unless you want to get yourself into a world of legal problems. It clearly says on the box not to screw around with it, take the hint and move on.Last edited by cwb27; Apr 17th, 2007 at 10:41 AM.

Who ever said I wanted to get into the box. I made this thread for discussion purposes only as I may soon be applying for a job with Rogers. And thanks robattoronto.

You had your chance but you blew it.
When the cable guy came to install the filter to block off meTV, you could have invited him in for a beer, could have slipped him a $20 and he could have forgotten to install the filter.

Premium channels are now controlled by the Head end and are authorized on your digital box without the need to remove/install a filter. Besides, if you think your going to outsmart rogers and remove the filter, then be warned, my friend tried and rogers came and re-installed the filter on top of the utility pole that could only be reached with their cherry picker. Tough break
