help - trackpoint users
hello, i have an ibm thinkpad x20. my scrolling style has changed. before if i wanted to scroll, i'd simply press and hold the scroll button while pushing the trackpoint int he direction that i wanted to scroll.
the problem occurred after i tried installing my logitech mx610 mouse. i uninstalled teh mouse later on, b/c i felt that the trackpoint worked better. after uninstalling the mouse. my scroll style for my trackpoint changed.
i get a scroll icon on the screen, similar to the ones you get when you click the wheel on a mouse.
how do i get rid of this and return to my original way of scrolling? thanks

Try reinstalling the trackpoint driver. If you don't have it, you should be able to pick it up at the Thinkpad site. Also check your control panel, I think there's an applet to configure your trackpoint there.

i tried reinstalling the trackpoint driver. i've also checked the Control Panel. the only thing i see there is trackpoint accessiblility, but there's nothing in there that i see that can modify the scrollying style.

ok i've finally got it to work. i just had to install the new drivers. after doing so, i had to manually update the mouse drivers from device manager, under mouse and pointing device. that enabled me to get the Trackpoint tab in "mouse" which i was missing before. The scroll type i chose was standard rather than smooth, which is similar to the wheel click on normal external mice. thanks for your help.

Yep. I pity the fool who bought a notebook that only comes with a touchpad
