Help - Which Universities offer distance education in Accounting courses?
Hi,
I am planning to take a few Certified General Accountant ( CGA ) equivalent courses through distance education. Besides, Athabasca, could anyone recommend any of the following universities for their accounting / taxation / auditing distance education courses?
I have never taken distance education so all your advices/experiences are appreciated.

Well one thing I gotta say is I wouldn't take any advanced accounting courses online since it might be hard to understand the concepts without somebody explaining it to you. Tax might be easier as well you just read the rules and do the problems. As for where to take them, I have no idea. I think distance ed courses in general are harder and you need to work harder since you're pretty much all by yourself.

Thanks for the information. I will check Athabasca and Ryerson out and see who will cut me more slack on those CGA equivalent courses with pre-requisite courses.

Carleton isn't too bad either to be honest. I know most of the 1st, 2nd and even some of the 3rd year finance courses are CUTV (DVD Delivered to your door) and I'm sure they are some of the equivalent courses you'd need.
If you look on Carleton's website, or contact them (613-520-2600) and ask to speak to the Sprott School of Business they'll have loads more information.
