Core i5-3317U, 4GB ram, 15" 1600*900 screen res, 128 Gb SSD

2. Acer S7 - $599
Core i5 3317U, 4GB, 11.6" 1920*1080 touch screen, 128GB SSD

15" and 11.6" is a huge difference, you should try out a 12inch and see if you have a problem with the screen.

3.48 lbs isn't bad for a 15" and the price is right (though 128GB is pretty snug).

I like the screen sizes as these two are for two different individuals. I was wondering if they are good in terms of processors and would I be missing out on alot not going with a Haswell processor.

The 15" is an over two year old machine, so it's not going to be the latest and greatest at anything. But still the battery is supposed to last 7 hours, which is good for a pre-Haswell unit.

Is there any long-life ultrabooks equipped with these features?
