Thanks I called Hertz again and spoke with a different person and was told that I do not have to provide any identification. This is the same response as a previous post.
I will try it

Has anyone been able to tell me if they have used this successfully?
+1 I was told this as well. I figure there really is nothing to loose by trying.

Thx, i'll probably book with Thrifty a mustang convertible for my trip in Miami. One week for less then 400$
I hope it will be the GT version ...

Just booked a car for this weekend.
The best rate I could get was using the Hertz Gold Family Program CDP, as well was PC 147770. Brought me to $59 for the whole weekend.

There is an airport premium that you are seeing there. Try a location nearby. Night be worth a $5 cab ride.

Great Rates for Weekend & 10 day rentals
Hi all
Eventhough I just joined this site and this is my 1st time posting, I have spent alot of time trying out different discount/coupon codes to see what's the best deal I can get from Hertz. While 'educating' myself to the best codes to use, someone made a comment that sometimes one can find a better deal on a class of car (that may not be rented as much) that is bigger than a compact or economy,so I decided to try it out myself and this is what I found:
I rented a Dodge Avenger (Standard Class) for near the end of April/12 from one of the community based offices in Winnipeg with the following codes: {PLEASE NOTE:THIS IS A CAA CODE FOR A FREE WEEKEND DAY. THIS OFFER EXPIRES ON APRIL 30,2012} :
>>>CDP#275(unless you are renting from Manitoba, you need to use the CAA code for your province/state)PC#157990(free weekend day)......I got this for $32.36!!! (an economy was $33.55 & compact $35.68)
I made a reservation through AutoSlash (they do the work for you by watching the deals that can help lower your costs, automatically lower your charges for you & they are free) & rented the same class of car for 10 days in May (offer good until end of June/12). When asked if I had any promo/cdp codes this is what I put in:
>>>CDP# I put in my hertz gold membership# and the PC# 168210 ($35 discount). I was able to reserve the Avenger (once again it was less expensive than the economy & compact cars) for $256.56.
Hope this info is helpful!

I've looked at the Flyer Talk Forums and though the first few pages of this thread but is there a summary post about how to go about using Codes and what the latest active ones might be?

Yes, that's possible. You just have to check the box that says you're returning the car to a different rental location when you make a reservation online, or let them know at the counter.

I tried it with a variety of dates/durations and keep getting this:
