High Interest rate promos for 2019

usually there are quite a few "gimmicky" high interest promos out early new year by online banks such as simplii, tangerine etc. Many of them promise 3% for x months.
Do we have any such promos going on these days?

Just called tangerine yesterday, there is none apparently for TFSAs, but the rep told me its going to have promo at start of the year. So id say, remove ur money from ur tfsa on 31 dec... And wait to put it back in jan 2019 if there is something interesting.

Tangerine has one, 3% for 6 months, with a $50 bonus I think. Scotia has some weird savings account that they promote as 3.2% but it isn't really (momentum plus).

Am I correct in my calculation that the net difference in a 1.25% vs 3% non tfsa/rrsp account per $10000 is a paltry $12.50 every 3 months?
in other words, I will save about $60 if I transfer $50000, with 30% tax deduction it will end up being about $40 after 3 months?

I doubt it would help, reps just check you profile and if you are eligible.... you eligibility is determined by other department (based on some unknown algorithm or lottery)
