I've been ragging on Hong Kong dramas (particularly TVB) dramas for years because it's like they are stuck in the 90's or something, with the overacting, lack of research on the subjects they want to touch upon and overall bad production.

Now that HKTV is trying to challenge the status quo in Hong Kong, I can't wait until they officially get their tv license. Just go to youtube and checkout the trailers for all the dramas they are making (or already made), they look way better than the TVB stuff.

Yesterday, they released the first episode of one of their dramas called Borderline, starring Liu Kai Chi and Dominic Lam.

The quality is like a cross between a RTHK documentary and HK film. I can't wait to watch the next episode.

Hey TinLunLau, what's the latest on HKTV? Do you think their drama with the government will drag on for years or do you think they'll come online this year?
