I have been price matching by starting a chat session on HomeDepot's website. They will ask for your postal code, the Home Depot product SKU along with the link to the competitor's website. Once they do their verification, they'll agree to price match. From here I've had two different outcomes, first is that I placed the order myself (at full price) and send my order number in the chat window. They modified the price and I received a revised Home Depot order email at price matched -10%. Second is that they place the order on my behalf, I provide all my information and they have a special form in the chat to request credit card info. I also receive two emails, one with the order at full price and the second at the revised price.

I've read that you can also price match over the phone or by texting (SMS).
