So just bought another opener for $224.10.

If you spend $250 you get a $50 card for next purchase.

Girl was being difficult so my main concern was getting the price match plus 10%.

My current GDO is also belt driven. When installing this one, can I reuse the current belt or I must use the belt provided with Chamberlain? My current GDO is liftmaster and has one continuous belt.

I recently replaced a dying 10 year old Liftmaster with a Chaimberlain (similar to the one in this thread). I reused the 1 piece Liftmaster rail and could have reused the original belt but swapped to the new one. Old belt was in good condition, no cracks no fraying but I felt better replacing a wear and tear part.

If anybody wants something even cheaper, the Sommer direct drive unit is on clearance

https://www.lowes.ca/garage-door-opener ... 59501.html

It's chain that's wrapped, so supposedly it's extremely quiet
anyone got experience with Sommer. Is Sommer comparable to Genie as far as quality, durability and life span?

Anyone know why my sensors are so sensitive?

Maybe 1 out of 4 times it won’t close and it will flash the lights indicating that there’s something blocking the sensor.

I look and there’s nothing or maybe just a leaf of piece of ice.

Any advice?

Oh yeah, sorry, I meant rail but ended up writing belt. I think using the new belt definitely makes sense. I will see if I can use the existing rail easily. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Increase the height the sensor is installed at?

I just installed the one for my dad today.

Also adjusted the sensors to just under 12 inches and seems to have solved the issue.

Thanks!!

Good that I have not touched the box at all. Will ask for a refund of difference if price goes down.

You made my day Bizzy! Just spoke to HomeDepot and if I call in tomorrow they will credit me the extra $100 saving (bought 2). True RFD double dip savings!
