I don't think you will get hit with brokerage from monoprice as another poster on here has debated with me in a previous thread. My friend ordered 2 VGA to S-video converter boxes last month for $70 and didn't get hit with any taxes or brokerage. The pricing on monoprice is great but what kills it for me is the shipping costs.

I have had great experiences with Monoprice thus far, but it's definitely true about the shipping. If you are buying a heavy mount, shipping kills a lot of the monoprice deals. I've bought 2 smaller mounts from them and a pair of HDMI cables and have never been hit with brokerage fees.

The problem with the one mount that I selected as a test on the cart, "USPS Air Parcel for Canada" was not an option. The only USPS was $40 instead of the $35 UPS was charging and I don't know if they have different brokerage rules on that one.

In my experience it's just so hard to know in advance with the brokerage fees, so my rule of thumb is to expect around $20 and if you don't get charged it's a bonus. I've never been charged brokerage with USPS

It's the same $20 rule. It's a governmental rule.

If you choose Expedited UPS, you won't have any brokerage fees (on huge order, ground vs expedited is often $5-10 apart.. worth it)

That said, all my order using USPS never had any fees. I only paid using UPS (huge order over $400 of cable/wall plaque/etc.)
