Not bad. I got the 22 inch grill for $80 a few years ago then purchased the enclosed ash catcher from Weber for $30. Guess it depends on if you want the red or not.

Just be careful.. the original Kettle Weber (black) is made in usa and this special edition (in sale now) in made in china, i saw a few post from users saying that the paint is not the same quality, as the original one... might chip and rust..

price is good tho

Whats the difference between this model and the black one? The black one seems to be a bit cheaper.

If you're refering to the one priced at $149.99 that's a One Touch Silver, this one is a OT Gold. The difference is how the ash is collected. Notice on the black one, it's only a plate below the grill where as on the red (and other coloured ones) there's a basket under the grill. When you clean the ash out of the BBQ the OTG keeps everything nice and tidy. Well worth the extra money IMO.

No but it tastes 100 times better. Also i would reccommend a char coal chimney to start the coals.

The title makes it sound like a sting operation by Immigration Canada: "Home Deport".

This is a pretty hot deal for one of the best no gimmick charcoal grills.

For anyone getting into charcoal, drop the 100 bucks and get a looftlighter. Charcoal made easy.

That makes charcoal lighting quite easy. It might consume quite a bit of electricity. Wonder if a small propane torch would work?

I use a small propane torch plus a heat gun. A hair dryer would probably work fine too.

Heat gun seems to be the winner:

I guess it would consume somewhere near 500 watts for 10 minutes.

If you get Weber performer platinum, it's just as easy.

How about electric charcoal starter? Would that be easier?

1. Buy cheap, buy twice
2. Don’t buy because it’s cheap. Buy it when needed or it brings convenience/happiness/better quality in life
3. Buy now think (regret/return) later
4. If the gut says don’t tell your lady, don’t!

Just buy the weber chimney.. not very expensive and easy to use.. took a little bit longer to light up but if you are on a rush maybe a charcoal bbq is not for you.
