These work great. I bought 2 last year after Christmas for $10 each at home Depot. Be warned though the motion won't kick in if using a timer, you have to press the motion button every time it turns on... To avoid that you would have to leave it on all night and not use a timer. Anyone know a work around or how to rewire it, let me know.
Have you tried taping the button down permanently?

we got this last year after Christmas for $10... I just installed it last saturday. I placed it on our tree in front of our house... had to cut the wire and extend it for 10 more feet... it's just 5 volts so it's much better to extend the adapter than wiring a power line to the tree..

The manual says it will run for 8 hours and standby for 16... as long as the power doesn't get interrupted the stars will be moving around... if it does get interrupted, I'd hate to be climbing the tree to set the buttons again

Yesterday I saw the official price for these on homedepot.ca went down to $30, but today the price and stock check have been pulled from the product page.

Works fine for me, still on the website. Maybe your store has 0 in stock. Try changing location.

Now officially $19.98. I picked up a couple at my local Home Depot.

Some people have mentioned issues with connecting this light to a timer - that the light won't come back on when the timer turns on. Perhaps there are two slightly different versions of this product? The one I picked up has a rocker-style button for off, green only, or red & green lights. Once you move the button to the desired position, it stays there even after the timer turns off then back on. I can verify that the lights turn on automatically when the timer turns back on. The motion setting also stays on.

There are cheaper kaleidoscope ones at home depot for about 8$.

A month ago i bought a set of 2 rgb ones for 7.5$.

Had set them up at the front of my house and recently found some **** decided to cut my tie wraps and steal one...
Was pissed more at the thought that someone would do this shit considering there were plenty of other houses around with them as well...

Was going to get one until I realized the temperature range was -15℃ to 30℃. It definitely gets colder than -15℃ here, it won't work for us.
