[Home Depot] *ON only* LED light bulbs $1.21-$3.02 tax inc with SaveONenergy coupon

Hi Everyone,

I just came back from Home Depot and found a great deal on LED light bulbs for anyone that's looking. Using a printed SaveONenergy coupon you can take $5 off an Energy Star certified LED bulb. There is a limit of 5 coupons per customer.

Link to all coupons: https://saveonenergy.ca/consumer/progra ... upons.aspx

Here are a few highlights of what I saw available in store. The regular prices on these bulbs are around $11-$13 each. Best to check stock before going.

Philips 11W Soft White LED (These were out of stock at my location)
http://www.homedepot.ca/product/led-11w ... ite/828844
$5.50 + 13% tax - $5 coupon = $1.21

Cree 6W Soft White LED, 40W equivalent (also saw a daylight version for same price, not on the website)
http://www.homedepot.ca/product/led-a19 ... ite/827152
$6.60 + 13% tax - $5 coupon = $2.46

Cree 9.5W Soft White LED, 60W equivalent
http://www.homedepot.ca/product/led-a19 ... ite/827146
$7.10 + 13% tax - $5 coupon = $3.02

Cree 9.5W Daylight LED, 60W equivalent
http://www.homedepot.ca/product/led-a19 ... ght/827149
$7.10 + 13% tax - $5 coupon = $3.02

**Taxes are charged on the full price, then coupon taken off afterwards**

I bought 5 Cree bulbs:

2@$6.60 = $13.20
3@$7.10 = $21.30
Subtotal: $34.50
Tax 13%: $4.49
Total: $38.99
Coupon $5x5: $25.00
Final Total: $13.99

In total I paid about $2.80 each for 5 LED lights.

one coupon for only one time use. As [OP] use 5 coupons. Am I correct? Where do I find coupons?

There's a link to the printable coupon right in the OP. Or you can just go to SaveOnEnergy.ca directly.

Can we get Ontario only edited into the title please? The fine print on the coupons say Ontario only.

I've had the Philips for quite some time (2 years?).
They are great (Instant on and a good warm white), but have one downside which is that the light is mainly emitted from the sides and not the top.

Last time couple of times I tried to use the saveonenergy coupons for the Cree LEDs, they denied it because there is no ENERGY STAR on the packaging. Anyone know how I can show Cree LEDs are Energy Star rated? There was some kind of announcement a couple of months ago that Cree had gotten the certification, but I could locate anything I could show the cashier.

Stay away from the Cree bulbs. I have had 2 die out 10 in 6 months. To get warranty you need to ship the bulbs back so it is not worth it.

If there is no Energy Star Certified symbol on the package, you cannot use the coupon. A LED is energy saving DOES NOT mean it is energy star certified. In order to be energy star qualified, the product needs to meet certain standard. For example, if you look at Philips LED bulb, the "soft white" is Energy Star Certified while the "daylight" is NOT energy star certified.

LED bulb is energy saving product, but may NOT be energy star certified. So don't mix up with "energy saving" and "energy star certified"

Yes - they have the symbol on the front bottom right of the package. Just bought some myself today - no issues.

Ask them to check the playbook (or the list), its on there
In fact in Rand McNally they wear hats on their feet and hamburgers eat people
