Managed to pick one up in Barrie just by showing the Scarborough online pricing and still showing 2 in stock. Great light for $16 if your already in the Ryobi ecosystem.

HD price matching policy isn't worth pixels it's printed on. They have all these fine prints that are nothing else but bs they try to think off on spot when you are in their store.

This deal was for the P720. You walked away with the upgraded P721 which has a lower power mode and more lumens and likely the reason for the P720 getting cleared out to begin with. Strangely the P721 does not have a HD page.

P721 is on the US Home Depot site. 2400+ lumens vs. 1700+ lumens on the P720

my Box is printed P721, but the barcode and HD sticker on the Box says P720. no idea why....but don't care....$16 each was a steal! you can use 18V battery, or plug-in

I got 2 with this deal and they were both P721s - I think others reported to getting the P721 as well (in the earlier thread that expired). I think they mixed up the inventory somewhere in attempting to clear out old stock and bring in new. Mine does have the two power modes as well.

North York
I happened across one at the Ellesmere location and it also happens to be a P721. The price tag on the shelf says P720, but the barcode is for the P721 so there must be a mixup somewhere.

ES_Revenge wrote: You must not have seen many HD clearance deals? HD is the absolute worst for this. The clearance deals are very store-specific and cannot be PM'd or found at the same price at most (and possibly all) other HD locations. 100% "YMMV" these "deals".

This is why I completely gave up on HD clearance a long time ago. Nearly every time I see a clearance HD deal posted on RFD it's usually a pretty good deal only I know I can't get it so I don't even bother. If you live in an area where your HD has good clearance deals consider yourself lucky. My closest ones have the worst "clearance" deals ever (seriously sometimes things are like $5 off on a $100 item  ). Meanwhile other ppl get stuff that's $90 for less than $20, regularly. I couldn't be bothered to drive all over the place/across the city just to find it OOS at the posted store either--pretty much as soon as something is posted on RFD like this, don't expect it to be in stock for longer than the same day of the posting.

In summary:
-HD clearance deals are completely YMMV/location specific
-Don't bother trying to PM at another HD
-Some locations have terrible "clearance" deals, some have great ones
-By the time a great one is posted on RFD, same day it will be sold out, so if your local HD has the terrible deals, don't even bother
-HD can blow me
You talk as though HD owes you.

All I'm saying is they have a right to manage their store the way they please, it's their business. We can choose not to shop.

Are you serious? I was thinking of getting a battery and might be interested. What size battery is it?

So, deal is finally dead. I just checked online and Scarborough store #7001 is finally showing the standard $98 price like all other locations. I managed to pickup two over the course of a few weeks so thank you OP. Was great while it lasted.
