FYI Markham East is showing S-340 in stock. Edit - quite a few locations in GTA East is showing stock.

I ended up getting LP a month ago even though I have a NG line at my house already. Cruising Kijiji, I see many NG listings because sellers move and new house does not have NG line. This BBQ will likely out live my stay at my current house so I don't want to deal with that in the future.

I also got the E model because SS is a pain to keep clean. I signed up for HD CC for an additional $100 off and got free delivery and assembly from the manager.

This thing is a gas hog! I went through a 20lb tank already using it 2-3 times/week.

Weber Genesis II LX models are made in the USA.
Weber Genesis II non-LX models are made in China.
Weber Spirits are made in China.
Weber Summits are made in the USA.
Good to know. IMHO, the made in China models aren't worth half those prices.

The regular price of the Genesis II's vs comparable Genesis II LX's is about half.

Genesis II LX's have the following extras over Genesis II's:

- made in USA
- come mostly built
- have a side burner
- have stainless grills
- have stainless flavour bars
- have enclosed cabinet/cart
- include a handle light
- light up knobs
- have slightly higher BTU output
- auto starter clicker on the knobs

Think that's about is.

Amazon has the Weber Cover on sale @ $70, I price matched at HD when I picked up the grill last night.
Price matched a new Weber cover from HD to Amazon last night as well. Thanks!

Just saw today at Costco genesis II LX for 1499.99 with Bluetooth and cover .

Not really looking for new BBQ. But if a quality one comes up for a great price I may buy one .

I doubt the news ones will last like my 14 year old weber .

for those looking for the LX S-340 LP there are still two available in Etobicoke store. Both boxes are on the top overhead near the lighting section.

Did your guys LX Weber’s come with any sort of manuals or instructions? Where the heck was it?

Mine doesn’t appear to have one.

Hmm tempting.

Just researching and the Genesis II LX S-340 has a few poor reviews online. Sentiment seems to say good quality construction but underwhelming searing performance:

This is may be why it got discontinued?

Thoughts anyone?

Yes, mine came with a manual. I unboxed it in the home depot parking lot so I don't really remember where it was hidden but I have it.

Best bbq i have ever owned . Heats to 500f F in 5 minutes ,even in winter. Food is cooked evenly every time.
The only thing i have to complain about is price( i paid 1499) , but i would do it all over again if i had a choice. No question.

I would recommend this Weber without hesitation.

Gosh, the Weber Spirits are so underwhelming in person. I saw them at Home Depot and they definitely look great, but as soon as you lift the lid, you can tell the quality of the bbq is not very good. it just doesn't even feel like a weber. It feels quite cheap actually. There's no way I would ever buy a Weber Spirit.
I respectfully disagree. I’ve owned cheap bbq’s for a very long time and when I got my spirit it was a definite upgrade in terms of quality of parts and just weight alone. Obviously you can’t compare the spirit line to the genesis line. The spirit line is a corolla and the genesis line is a nice Lexus. Both get the job done but one will have a lot more bells and whistles.
