I have never seen this stuff go on slae before. Great price for 100' length. Regualr price @ HH is $33 ($30 @ HD). In the flyer valid until July 21. If your store doesn't have it in stock they will order it from you and it should be in from the central warehouse in a few days, or they will give you a raincheck. You could also PM with Home Depot if that is more convenient, but I like to support the smaller local guys when I can (and especially when they are able to beat the big box stores on price so consistently).

I found that HomeHardware had the best prices for the fittings (comparing to Home Depot and Lowes). They also had the best price on the 'pinch tool' (not the tool for the copper compression rings, but for the stainless steel crimp type). The kit that included the tool and a small qty of crimps was on sale 2 weeks ago, but that is over.

How hot is it rated for? Wondering if it's only suitable for domestic hot water or if hot water radiator application would be appropriate at around 180-200F.

Temperature and pressure ratings ranging from 100 PSI @ 82 degrees C (180 degrees F), 160 PSI @ 23 degrees C (73 degrees F), 80 PSI @ 93 degrees C (200 degrees F)

Seems like it would probably barely do the job for adding another rad in the basement. Kind of close though...

For heating applications you need a specific PEX tubing with an oxygen barrier.

You can probably use it for speaker wires...but that's about it. 1/2" is not very big.

I don't understand why you would need to in the first place? In order to try to meet code for in-wall wiring? If that's the case I highly doubt running wiring through PEX of any time is anywhere close to accepted practice.

Thanks OP. I am in the process of finishing my basement and needed some of this. I went to Rona and their pricematch guarantee is 10% of the difference bringing the cost down even further. After some negotiation, I was able to get both the white and red PEX piping (they didn't want to give me the red as this is a different model #).

As for the crimper, I just picked up a 1/2" and 3/4" crimper on sale at Home Depot for $62.99 (they gave me 10% on top of the sale price because it was the last one and the packaging was open). That would be the best price I've seen on one of these so far.
