Honda A1 service

I just came to Honda dealer for A1 service. Service advisor said,A1 service is only oil change,no filter change. Is he right?

I bought new crv from them,so they do 1st oil change free. But, I wish they change filter too.

He said, only B service do oil and filter change.

I thought, always need change filter when do oil change.

Have you checked your manual for it's maintenance schedule?

According the Honda and the manual, the oil filter is good for 16000km, so every 2nd oil change (B service).
Personally I change mine every time, as an extra $7 is not a big deal to me.

Confirmed.... After checking in my Honda Accord 2003 manual..... This is correct. Honda says change oil every 8000km or 6 months and change oil filter every 16000km or 1 year.

It's an add-on extra cost option the service advisor should offer to you. I think its around $10 extra

I have been to 2 different dealers for service on my 2012 Civic sedan. They both changed the oil filter with the A1 service.

Any Honda dealership that is making a big deal regarding a change of an oil filter on A1 service should be dropped like a hot potato. Perhaps OP should remind the adviser that he had spent $25k on a new car and it is because of customers like him that moron has a job.

He said, oil filter and oil change for B service.

I saw my invoice. He did only oil change. no oil filter change.

Drop the dealership if they want to save $5-10 on an oil filter.

Check your owner's manual: http://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/pubs ... 1515OG.pdf

If you review Page 124, you will see that A1 service involves only replacing Engine Oil and Rotating Tires. Technically the dealership did nothing wrong in not providing you with a replacement oil filter. However for the added $7-$10 for a replacement, I see a value in replacing it every time for preventive measures.

I don't think it's about the dealer not wanting to the filter provide at A1 service price. I'm sure the B service is priced accordingly to include the filter cost.

That being said, I agree with l69Norm, the adviser should have offered the filter at an additional cost should the op really have wanted it.
