26K is a good price point in my opinoin.
Compare to the first SiR model, many features came standard now. Such as the racing seats, mp3 player, moonroof, spoiler and 17" rims. Not bad for a civic.._______________
Simple is nice.

The US gets them for just under $20000. With conversion, we Canada are playing almost $3k more. And it's made in Canada!

Dec 6th, 2005 05:47 PM #23Drive by wire basically means that when you turn the steering a computer turns the wheel accordingly (its not connected physically with steering ... in a way). All new BMW have it now (first to put in production i think?)I haven't tried it but don't like the idea ... computers do mess up u know.

Dec 6th, 2005 05:54 PM #24The comparison I'm making is between "performance" oriented econoboxes at a similar pricepoint.

That is all. Just because it is a turbo, doesn't invalidate the comparison. For people wanting cheap speed, it's all about performance vs price. The SRT-4 wins hands down. Unfortunately there isn't much of a market for a one trick pony like the SRT-4 (even tho I see quite a few on the road, unlike last gens Civic SiR), and that is why it is discontinued this year.
0-60mph (caranddriver.com)
SRT-4 - 5.3 secs
Civic Si - 7.3 secsLast edited by airodus; Dec 6th, 2005 at 06:11 PM.

And those who think it's a cheaper RSX-S. Although it has LSD which the RSX-S lacks and similar HP numbers. The real world performance of the RSX-S is much faster.
0-60mph (caranddriver.com)
RSX-S - 6.4 secs
However, compared to the similarly priced base model RSX, the Civic Si is much better._______________

Dec 6th, 2005 07:16 PM #26Your confusing yourself with all the odd terminology. When a auto company refers to something via "by-wire" there refering to technology where computer sensors replace/tandem with old cable or hydraulic systems.
