Qualifies for the $75 MB HYDRO smart thermostat rebate (until Feb 28) and other energy incentives across various provinces. If you can, get the $10 off 50 for the email sign up at LOWES (YMMV on this one)
HD has this for $99.

Through the Energy Efficiency Alberta program, there's a $100 rebate that can be claimed. In the end, you only pay GST on the thermostat, which is $5. Great deal for Albertans. Just don't know if it's a good thermostat. If you PM at Lowes, you end up making $5... lol.

For it being almost free I wouldn't hesitate on buying it. I have this unit and it's been great. Link with google home and you'll never have to touch it again. Geofencing is also a good feature. It doesn't "learn" like the other more expensive units but it does the job. If you don't like it just sell it for profit after you get the rebate.

I believe that HD and Lowes are both at $89.99. Also, both have $10 off coupons for signing up for mailing list. After the $75 rebate, that's like $5.

HD has no online inventory and most stores in Winnipeg are out of stock.

Lowes is supposed to have inventory and free shipping.

Doh! prices have changed since last night. Lowes is back to regular price ($179) and even HD has upped their price to $99.

Lowe's policy is to not accept their $10 coupons with a PM, so the best you'll get from them now is $99 - $9.90 PM ($89.10). Unless you get an associate who doesn't know about that policy. (if you're really luck, you might be able to add $11 and then use their $25 off of $100 coupon, but again, you're not supposed to be able to use that with a PM)

HD is better by 10 cents. $99 - $10 coupon ($89).

Both still have free shipping, but that's moot for HD who doesn't have any online inventory.

Matching against best buy is still doable for today.

I bought two of these then realized they won't work with my hydronic system in the basement.
If you have only 2 wires going into your existing thermostat these won't work.

With both Bestbuy and HD having it listed as $99, as near as I can tell, the best prices per store would be:
Bestbuy: $99
HD: $89 ($99 - $10 coupon)
Lowes: $89.10 ($99 - 10% price match)
