Horizontal striped sweater

Hey,

I noticed a lot of women wearing horizontal striped shirt/sweater more than guys.

Is striped shirt/sweater a trend for women or something??? I'm a male and I like the pattern but I don't know what others think about this horizontal stripe sweater.

I wouldn't say it's a trend, it's just an optical illusion to appear slimmer. Look up the Helmholtz illusion.

I am a man, and have tons of sweaters, a few with horizontal stripes. I think 4 or 5.

I wear a sweater almost daily in the fall and winter (with a dress shirt and tie). I just love them.

I saw a young guy today wearing a white top with navy stripes -- a nautical look.

If u r not thin, horizontal stripes are supposed to emphasize your width.

I find they also emphasize other things just below shoulder level ;)

AKA Breton stripe sweater. We have Coco Chanel to thank for her sailor inspired blue and white tops. This spring, that look was in many store/collection lines for both genders.

Stripes look good on both men and women. Vertical stripes make you look taller and horizontal stripes make you look less skinny.
You can see which one looks good on you and suits you the best and wear it.
