How is the microphone on these? Will the sale last until Friday at TD? I won't be able to pick up at FS until then.

I did this price match over the weekend. I must say, these headphones are COMPLETELY overrated. Not a total waste as long as you can PM, but otherwise definitely not a headphone I'd recommend. No idea what these reviewers gushing about them on head-fi are smoking.

i don't think they are super good but for the price they're. Idk how you got them down to $53. If they're $69.97, 10% is about $7. I got mine for $70 with hst. I don't really understand what is so special about headphones, like even the $400 + ones i have tried are like ok, they sound good but i dont get what all the fuss is about sounding crazy good. These have good bass and the noise canceling is ok (obviously not QC15 level). For $70 i think they're good. I was gonna get the Sol Republic Master Tracks (only if they were around $100), V-moda lp's (if they were around $50) or the V-moda M-100's (if they were around $200). the LP's got close but they were about $70. I decided to wait, heard the ue6000 were pretty good, i find them alright. comfortable though.

Sound-wise, semi-decent mids and lacklustre everything else. Bass is cardboardy, if you know what I mean, which is the opposite of what all the reviews say. I'm simply not moved by the sound when I put them on. I haven't been able finish a single song without switching to another headphone just because I know it'll sound better.
Physically, they're relatively heavy compared to my other phones, earpads are also the smallest, just barely wraps around my ears and I don't have big ears.

What $400 headphones are you trying that aren't good? Apart from buying Beats branded headphones which are brand-name which inflate price, I'm not sure how you can compare the price vs quality.manwinder wrote: ↑i don't think they are super good but for the price they're. Has no one tried the microphone on this? Really curious. The reviews I've seen haven't said anything about it's quality.

I'm not sure about the quality, but I think it only works on Apple devices. When I plug it into my S3, it just disables the mic on the phone and mic on the headphones don't work either, which is kind of annoying.Variability wrote: ↑Has no one tried the microphone on this? I actually returned my Sennheiser HD 598 headphones in favor of the UE6000 sale.
The Active Noise Cancellation is more 'isolating' than canceling but it keeps enough noise out to help me focus at the office. I love how heavy they are as they wrap around your head. Rich memory foam ear cups are soft and supple, comfortably snuggle my oversized ears. The deep bass on the hip-hop music I listen to.
For sub $99 headphones these are hard to beat - in my humble opinion

Ahhh saw this thread back on the front page, figured I'd chime in. These are one of my favourite all time RFD purchases.
I ordered these at the start of last week. Pricematched FS against the tigerdirect sale. Canada Post delivered them last Sunday!
They are seriously good headphones. I've owned grados, senns, shures, and even a pair of CD3ks - varying in price from $50-500. These UE6000's perform very very well for their price. With noise cancellation on the bass does get a little much but a lot of non-audiophiles will probably love that profile. Build quality is okay, but not as amazing as some people in here are making them sound. I have a pair of M-Audio Q40s and those things are built like tanks. The UE6000s are solid but I'm still going to have to be careful with them. The cable-in on the left ear seems pretty loose, easy to pull out with not much pressure on the cable (good for protecting the jack I guess). Aside from my cd3k's, they are the comfiest closed cans I've used.
Buy now think later.

The cable actually goes in pretty well,
Takes quite a bit of strength to push it all the way in.
I only owned a shure 440 before.
The ue6000 is way more fun and colorful, but the 440 is has clearer highs and mids, a bit wider soundstage.
Depends mostly on your own taste of music.

I go in and the CSR spends at least 10 minutes looking it up on TD and telling me why she won't pm along the way... negativity from the start. Don't waste my time, say no, and I'll get on with my day. Claims limited and wants to add shipping.
My wife pops in later and explains it's not "Limited Quantities", its limit of 25 you can buy. Successful for $53. Better RFDer than me, lol.
Thanks OP, great backup pair to take on vacation.

I bet the PM price + 10% is actually below FS/BB cost which is why they're hesitant to PM. However that should not prevent them from PM in this case as below cost has nothing to do with their PM policy.
Also TD shows stock at their stores so no need for FS/BB to add shipping.
