Yeah, I'd like to know as well. I've had one for a few months now and it's been working flawlessly.

According to the reviews, it looks like quite a bit of people are having DOA or drives dying within 12 months problems.

every hard drive has a 100% failure rate

if you aren't backing your **** up to a different hard drive from a different manufacturer and a different shipping date, it is your own fault

Also, it looks like this drive is not intended for:
  • RAID;
  • boot drive;
  • servers.
So I guess if you have a lot of family movies you want to store, this could be a good deal.

Wow...seems like smoking deal.

And I can't believe there are so many DOA...bad batch? WD has been making the most reliable drives lately.
RFD is love. RFD is life. I wish I had an RFDer for a wife.

i have two of these drives in my windows home server, plus a third WD20EARS version, and all three have been running full time in the server well.

this is a good price, i just ordered the seagate version from black friday deals, and hitachi deskstar version before that. all of them work well.

i would love to order this drive too (i have a hdd and ssd addiction) lol. but out of slots in my server (can only hold 8 total). next drive to replace would be 1.5tb. which would be kind of a waste to upgrade to only 2tb. and gain a measly 500 gb. course right now i am buying drives faster than i can fill em. got 4tb free on the server still.

Well it is a 5900rpm drive, so that makes sense.

Ordered 3!

Thanks!
Ordered 2 for my Acer easyStore server as well.

The Seagate 1.5T got dropped off the storage pool for no reason. Peace of **** and don't trust it any more. :twisted:

Thanks OP for the deal.
