You'd have to have software to view the information. I have a cable like that but it is specifically for my car. To make much use of it you'd have to know some stuff about your car. mine tells me what the o2 sensor, tps, maf, rpm, timing, coolant temp, egr valve etc is doing. you can turn your cylinders off one by one to see which is malfunctioning etc. I have trouble with my air valve so it real helps to see what it is doing inside the computer.

i can view info on gauge even tells me fuel economy instant by instant.

I was actually looking at these on DX last night - I believe the first one is for VW/Audi. So if you don't have one of those, then the second one is what you want....

Does anyone know of software I can use with this for a Nissan? (besides what's included). The review on DX says that it works for Nissan 350Z.

Unless you want to view live performance data on your car, you don't need a PC cable. For diagnostics and troubleshooting, all you need is a OBD II code reader.

I got my code reader for $12.99 on eBay 2 years ago. Was a great investment.

This software(http://www.geocities.com/obdscantech2000/)has a consult II emulator which is used by Nissan. I'm waiting for the cable to test it out.
