HOT SSD! CANADA COMPUTERS: OCZ VERTEX 2, 60GB FOR $59.99 after $10 MIR! 1 DAY ONLY!!!
Hi,
OCZ Vertex 2 SSD = $59.99 AFTER $10 MIR, regular price $99.99
I've read some reviews about the reliability of the OCZ Vertex 2 ssd and most of them were good.
However, I've read that there are some potential reliability issues.
Considering that the price is basically $1 per gb for an SSD, I find this deal very hot and am tempted to buy...what do you guys think of this?
Enjoy and if there are any issues for this particular SSD, any helpful information is welcome.

I'd be more interested in the 120gb refurb corsair http://canadacomputers.com/product_i...item_id=045024 than this one. only kuz the cost per gb is better. the vertex 2s are great, run fast etc. the vertex 3s are faster now though (generally) although the price isn't the same

That is the best possible price if you want constant BSODs and dataloss. Couple that with 3 years of aggravating warranty support (you'll be using it, trust me) and you have a recipe for the best bang for buck SSD if you think in terms of bang as failure rates and dissatisfied people flooding OCZ's board. Enjoy the proven unrealiblity of the JMicron controller.

I have one of these in my laptop, and since the first day I got it, can actually hear screeching as the drive accesses... from what I assume to be poorly designed switching circuits inside the board, or possibly bad capacitors or something.
Needless to say, this drive has cause me to live in a constant state of fear and robs me of peaceful sleep.
However after 2 years is still hasn't died so it can't be that bad right?

I purchased 2 Vertex2E 60G last October and already RMA one of them in January due to red LED sleeping mode.

OCZ is probably one of the worst SSD brands
whohere doesnt view data as something vital and something they would like to keep safe.

Vertex 2 working fine here for me in my main rig - so far.
I think you might be confused with the Vertex Plus, which is notoriously unreliable because of chipset.
There is actually very little difference between brand makers for SSD other than Intel. They all tend to just put their brand name sticker on a generic Indilinx or Sandforce._______________

Cold. I've had 2 OCZ Vertex complete failure and i've also read a lot of nightmare story about those drives. Will never recommend OCZ SSD.
And right now you can get 128gb Kingston SSD for 120$ here : http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...n&promoid=1029
Less than 1$/gb and without MIR.
