It seems expensive but you're getting 95% white meat here. You'd need 3 pieces of regular boned fried chicken to compare actual protein.

Also keep in mind in Taiwan white meat is typically cheaper than dark.

Had the chicken with cheese at the pacific mall location recently.

My opinion is 60% batter, 40% chicken, but taste like 100% fecal matter.

Though I've heard the downtown location is better.

I think it's important to further describe this.

The piece is HUGE. Bigger than a BBQ chicken, lengthwise, from Costco, so naturally, it's not possible to be all meat.

60-70% of the huge piece is pure, thick chicken meat and a suitable amount of batter (IMO). The other 30-40% is battered bone/skin, not much meat here.

So while the quoted post's description is not exactly incorrect, I think it's important to note that it's not that its a mix of batter and meat all around, but rather there's a good chunk of it that's the good stuff, and the other half, not so much, simply because you just can't get that big piece of chicken breast. The entire piece is probably at least 10 inches by 7 inches.

I genuinely liked the taste, though I've only had it once.

No doubt the piece is enormous...like the size of your foot and a half but taste wise i think it's all personal preference.

I found the taste to be really awkward in the sense that the chicken meat was too sweet with a hint of saltiness and the batter/fried portion way too thick.

I had a hard time realizing that i didn't like the combination of fried chicken with cheese but to me it just didn't taste right at all.

For reference, the best chicken i've ever had was from Adamson's BBQ.

If you live near First Markham Place...go to the food court and have the Chicken Katsu at lunch for $7 plus tax at the Japanese stall in the corner near the Malay Thai stall. The Katsu Includes rice, salad and miso soup/canned pop. Much much better deal IMO. This DEAL is everyday.
